Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial for managing our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The Accountant will play a key role in reporting and ensuring the accuracy of financial information, facilitating our company’s continued financial health and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management and Oversight: Oversee the financial aspects of our inbound travel operations, ensuring all financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and internal policies. This includes the management of client funds, vendor payments, and operational expenses.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to prepare accurate monthly and annual budgets. Forecast costs and revenues related to travel packages, special events, and client itineraries, helping guide the strategic planning and financial decision-making processes.
  • Billing and Invoicing: Handle all aspects of client billing, including the preparation of detailed invoices for travel services provided. Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on outstanding accounts to maintain a healthy cash flow.
  • Vendor and Supplier Account Management: Manage accounts payable to vendors and suppliers crucial to our travel packages and operations. Negotiate payment terms and monitor transactions to ensure that all financial engagements support the company’s profitability and service standards.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generate and present detailed reports on financial status, including profit margins, expenditure, and cash flows. Analyze financial data to identify trends, perform cost-benefit analysis, and recommend improvements to enhance financial performance and reduce costs.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors during periodic audits and ensure compliance with local, national, and international financial laws and regulations applicable to the travel industry. Maintain accurate records for all financial transactions to ensure readiness for external audits and financial reviews.
  • Payroll Administration: Administer payroll activities ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. Process payroll changes, deductions, and updates to employee financial records as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant, with thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
  • Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
