- Ascertaining and adhering to the available budget.
- Selecting the most appropriate transport based on the available finances, requisite departure and arrival times, and preferred duration of transit.
- Securing accommodation that is best suited to the budget and location of choice.
- Planning excursions based on each client’s needs and interests.
- Accounting for mobility and medical needs during each phase of the trip planning process.
- Planning and selling transportations, accommodations, travel packages, excursions, and other travel services.
- Use promotional techniques and prepare promotional materials to sell itinerary tour packages
- Doing quotations.
- Deal with occurring travel problems, complaints, or refunds
- Maintain statistical and financial records
- Exploring ways of improving existing products and services and increasing profitability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience as a Travel Consultant, with expertise in local and international travel arrangements.
- Computer literate, with exceptional desktop research and professional writing skills.
- Top-notch interpersonal skills, including communication, respect, and empathy.
- Ability to source the best quotes.
- A knack for delivering multiple outputs within tight turnaround times, as needed.
- Capacity to deliver commendable services that surpass clients’ expectations.
- Proven work experience as a travel agent
- Good marketing skills online and offline.
- Experience in marketing presentations
- Studying competitors’ products and services
- Skills to persuade customers and influence their decisions, both for their benefit and that of the agency
- Excellent knowledge of computer reservations systems and e-traveling
- Must be excellent in computer & communication skills.
- Fluency in English; multilingualism is a plus.
- Strong sales skills and commercial awareness
- Ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively
- Knowledge of domestic and international travel trends
- Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or relevant field
- The personal travel experience will be considered an advantage
- Ability to assimilate information and to pay close attention to accuracy and detail.
