Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 airline, has announced a major expansion in its operations to Jordan, unveiling a record-breaking Winter 2025/2026 schedule for Amman. This exciting development brings more than 300,000 seats across 18 routes, connecting the Jordanian capital with 12 European countries — including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

The announcement marks a full return to operations at Queen Alia International Airport, reflecting the airline’s confidence in Jordan’s tourism potential and the country’s pro-business approach to aviation. Ryanair credits the pragmatic management of the airport and supportive government policies for enabling this rapid recovery and expansion.

A New Chapter for Jordanian Aviation

This milestone comes with Ryanair’s ambitious investment proposal for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which includes:

  • Increasing traffic by more than 360%, reaching three million annual seats

  • Operating 50 direct routes between European cities and Jordan

  • Launching new flights to Marka (Amman) Airport

  • Maintaining year-round flights to Aqaba

Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson described the move as a clear statement of commitment to Jordan’s growing tourism sector:

“With 84 weekly flights across 18 routes to 12 European countries, Ryanair’s investment will ensure that Jordan remains a key tourist destination this Winter — delivering enhanced connectivity, increased tourism, and economic growth with Europe’s lowest fares.”

Wilson added that the airline’s return to full operations builds on a long-standing partnership with Jordan, aimed at transforming the country into the premier tourism destination in the Middle East.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Vision

Dr. Emad Hijazeen, Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, hailed the announcement as “a truly exceptional milestone for Jordan’s aviation and tourism sectors.”

He emphasized that this expansion reinforces Jordan’s position as a regional hub for tourism and investment, while also creating new opportunities across the tourism value chain and boosting the national economy.

Promoting Jordan Globally

The Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), highlighted the success of the partnership since it began in 2018:

“Together, we have welcomed more than a million visitors from across Europe, diversifying source markets and achieving record-breaking tourism numbers in multiple seasons.”

He noted that beyond routes and seat capacity, the partnership’s joint marketing campaigns have been key to showcasing Jordan as a must-visit destination — from Petra’s timeless beauty to Wadi Rum’s adventure landscapes and the serene waters of the Dead Sea.

Why It Matters

This announcement is not just about new flights — it’s about economic growth, job creation, and global visibility. With Ryanair’s low-cost model, European tourists can now access Jordan more affordably than ever, leaving them with more to spend in local hotels, restaurants, and cultural experiences.

As Jordan continues to cement its place as a leading tourism destination in the Middle East, the Ryanair partnership stands as a model for how strategic aviation collaboration can transform national economies and global perceptions alike.
